FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric power engineering and electrical engineering, in particular to protection devices against propagation of damages in a power transformer against fault currents. At occurrence of fault current higher than permissible for fusible link in fuse (3) periodic component of this current causes heating of fuse link, arc is broken at simultaneous crushing into small arcs by spark-quenching plates of high-resistance metal alloy (6) due to their de-shunting contact provided in contactor (2) controlled by microprocessor relay protection unit (8), to which analogue information is supplied from measuring current (4) and voltage (5) transformers. At the same time the end coupling of cable line (9) is protected against the occurring overvoltages by overvoltage limiter (7).
EFFECT: providing, simultaneously with protection due to fuse fusible link burnout, provision of protection due to arc breaking into small arcs of residual voltage of periodic component.
