SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to pharmaceutical industry, namely to a composition having hepatoprotective and stress-protective properties, and to a method of using it. A composition having hepatoprotective and stress-protective properties, containing plant and peptide components, characterized by that the plant components are an ethyl alcohol extract of Silybum marianum seeds and ethyl alcohol extract from seeds of Angelica keiskei koidzumi, and the peptide component is a lyophilisate of a hypothalamic extract obtained from animals and containing tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly in an amount of ≥80 wt.%, with the following content of components, wt.%: ethyl alcohol extract of Silybum marianum seeds 16.7-83.2; ethyl alcohol extract of seeds of Angelica keiskei koidzumi 16.7-83.2; lyophilisate of hypothalamic extract 0.01-0.1. Method of using said composition for manifestation of hepatoprotective and stress-protective properties, in which a cycle is carried out, including oral administration of the composition once a day in amount of 200-640 mg in morning 30 minutes before meals for 30 days with a subsequent break in intake for 30 days, after which the cycle is resumed.

EFFECT: use of the group of inventions provides the creation of a composition exhibiting hepatoprotective and stress-protective properties with achieving a synergistic effect, which is expressed in the fact that the effectiveness of the composition during its application significantly exceeds the effectiveness of the components included in its composition and taken separately, for example, during monotherapy, as well as the creation of a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier made in the form of a capsule containing said composition.
