FIELD: engines.
SUBSTANCE: air-jet engine is designed to create jet thrust and represents a rotor consisting of cone-auger compressor 1, hollow shaft 2, turbine 3, gate 4, bearings of rotor 5, nozzle 6 and diffuser 7 located behind the rotor. In the gas turbine engine mode, the cone-auger compressor supplies compressed air inside the hollow shaft, in which the pressure of the working medium increases due to fuel combustion and formation of combustion products. Working medium pressure is distributed between the turbine creating the rotor rotation moment and the nozzle creating a narrow high-speed jet of the working medium directed to the diffuser centre, in which additional acceleration is imparted to atmospheric air, which forms thrust. Gate has the ability to smoothly redistribute the volumes of the working medium from the turbine to the jet nozzle, setting the optimum ratio of thrust and torque, and also to smoothly drive the engine to the moment of transition to the second (ramjet) mode, in which gate 4 completely covers the radial channel and switches off turbine 3. At this moment, torque generation is terminated. Compressor changes over to passive air intake state wherein compression occurs only due to back pressure of air and engine changes into ramjet mode of operation.
EFFECT: proposed engine demonstrates improvement of all significant indices required for engine suitable for superhigh-speed flights.
