SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for changing electrode tips of welding tongs, in particular to a linear drive for these systems. Toothed rack transmits the required torque to tool (8) with a replaceable head by means of gear wheels coupled with it. Piston rod (7) of the linear actuator of the double action is equipped with extension (2) of the piston rod with spring (4) placed on it and with receiving washer (3) fixed on it, providing for transfer of the linear motion to the mentioned toothed rack. Spring (4) has the possibility of its one end resting on linear drive (5), and its other end – on receiving washer (3) to accumulate stress in it due to displacement of extension (2) of piston rod when pressure is supplied from piston rod (7). Spring parameters are selected based on the condition of obtaining the maximum force Fsystem(sn) equal to the sum of the forces Fcylinder and Fspring(sn), where (sn) is the maximum spring stress path, with the possibility of transferring the accumulated force of stressed spring (4) to the receiving washer in addition to the force of linear actuator (5) when the pressure is applied to the piston of the rod of the linear actuator.

EFFECT: one-sided increase of linear drive force.
