FIELD: metal forming.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in aircraft, ship and machine building. Essence of the invention consists in plastic compression along the axis of a torsional workpiece of a cylindrical shaft to the required accumulated deformation, which provides an increase in the highest conditional shear yield strength of thermally unhardened steels.
EFFECT: increased strength of twisted elements of structures to increase reliability of machines and mechanisms.
