FIELD: separation.
SUBSTANCE: proposed group of inventions relates to electrostatic separation of materials, namely to structures and parts of structures of electrostatic separators used for separation of ore particles into components by electrical conductivity. Corona electrode for the electrostatic separator is long and consists of several repeating links of Π-shape or U-shape, with an interlink distance determined by the relationship Lbreak.<A<2*Lbreak., where Lbreak. is distance, at which, when voltage is applied to the electrode, breakdown occurs between the links of the electrode, and A is the interlink distance. Corona electrode is used in an electrostatic separator containing means for supplying the material to be separated to a material separation area, a material separation area including means for transferring an electric charge to the material to be separated. Section for separation of material is made in the form of a movable conveyor belt made of an electroconductive material, or is made in the form of a surface of a rotating drum made of an electroconductive material.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of electrostatic separation process, as well as reduced time of technological operation of separation and reduced dimensions of equipment.
