SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical, petrochemical, biotechnological and other industries. Disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out biochemical processes in gas-liquid flows, comprising: a cylindrical body with contact devices arranged along its length, mounted on plates distributed along the length of the apparatus, as well as pipes for supplying liquid and gases, in which the contact devices are made in the form of two or more swirlers located on each of the trays, wherein the trays with swirlers are distributed along the length of the housing of the apparatus, and the swirlers are distributed over the area of the plates in such a way that part of the swirlers located on each of the plates provides rotation of the gas-liquid flow in one direction, and the remaining swirlers on the same plate provide the gas-liquid flow rotation in the other direction so that the total moment of momentum on the plate is compensated, wherein separation chamber is arranged at the top of the device to discharge gas discharge branch pipe and fluid discharge branch pipe to be divided into liquid discharge branch pipe and recirculation branch pipe to feed fluid into the device.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase surface of contact of phases, to increase intensity of heat and mass exchange processes, and also to provide high specific surface area and coefficient of mass transfer.
