FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to production of polymerisation catalysts, specifically a catalyst for producing poly(butylene adipate terephthalate) (PBAT). Method of preparing a composite catalyst for producing PBAT involves two steps. At the first step, an activated nanocarrier with particle size of 20–500 nm, a modifier and a titanate are added to the solvent and heating for 2–5 hours at 30–120 °C to obtain a catalyst emulsion. Nanocarrier is selected from the group of aluminum oxide, titanium dioxide and silicon dioxide. Titanate is tetra-n-butyl titanate, tetramethyl titanate, tetraethyl titanate and tetraisopropyl titanate or any mixture thereof. Modifier is selected from a group consisting of sodium-ethylene glycol, potassium-ethylene glycol, magnesium-ethylene glycol and aluminum-ethylene glycol, or any mixture thereof, and the solvent is methanol, ethanol, ethylene glycol, glycerol and butanediol or any mixture thereof. Weight ratio of titanate to nanocarrier is 1:1–1:50, molar ratio of titanate to modifier is 1:0.2–1:3 and molar ratio of titanate to solvent is 1:0.5–1:5. At the second stage, catalyst emulsion is filtered through a sand core to obtain a solid catalyst and drying the solid catalyst at 60–100 °C for 12 hours or more under vacuum conditions until complete drying to obtain a solid granular composite catalyst, which is a nanotitanium-based compound with a spatial coordination structure and has a particle size of 20–500 nm.
EFFECT: providing a method of producing a catalyst, which enables to load more active Ti centers on a nanocarrier for an efficient process of copolymerisation of monomers to obtain PBAT of high quality and high molecular weight.
