FIELD: brakes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of transport machine building, more specifically to the ventilated brake discs of vehicles and methods of their manufacturing. Ventilated brake disc comprises friction ring and hub connected to each other by means of multiple connecting elements made in the form of bent pins. Friction ring consists of two rings connected by multiple ribs to form ventilation channels. Bent pins have a vertically oriented part and a straight horizontal part. Vertically oriented part of each of the bent pins enters the annular end of the hub and is permanently connected to it by pouring. Bent pins are located along the hub circumference. Straight horizontal part of each of the bent pins enters the holes made in the friction ring with the possibility of limited movement inside the above holes. Method of ventilated brake disc manufacturing consists in following operations sequence: friction ring with ventilation channels is prepared, in holes of which straight horizontal parts of bent pins are installed; on lower half-die installing prepared friction ring; above the vertically oriented part of each of the bent pins, two half-plates are installed on the lower half-die; installing the upper half-die to form a casting mould for the hub between the half-dies, wherein the vertically oriented parts of the bent pins are located along the periphery of the said casting mould for the hub; metal is poured into the space of said casting mould to form a hub with vertically oriented parts of bent pins cast into its annular end; after metal cooling, both half-dies and all half-plates are dismantled with formation of ventilated brake disc.
EFFECT: provision of efficient cooling of ventilated brake disc during operation and reduction of its weight.
