FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to vascular surgery. Patient is in a supine position with bent limbs in knee joints up to 135° and diverted to the outside. Contrast agent 1.3 ml/kg is introduced into the cubital vein at rate of 3 ml per second with the help of a syringe-injector; scanning delay time is 2 minutes. Image is reconstructed by combining the multiplane section modes and the maximum intensity projection mode. Plane of axial section is set at the level of popliteal fossa, plane of frontal section – on border of subcutaneous fat and muscles of popliteal region, plane of sagittal section is set so that it coincides with axis of popliteal vein. Keeping the axial axis fixed, the perforating vein is detected by rotating the sagittal section plane to the right and left sides by 90° from initial position.
EFFECT: method enables determining the localization and patency of the perforating veins of the popliteal region, reducing the concentration of the contrast agent used by the indirect CT phlebography in a given position of the lower extremities.
