SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for direct hydrogenation of maleic anhydride to obtain 1,4-butanediol and succinic anhydride, 1,4-butanediol is obtained by two-step hydrogenation using maleic anhydride and hydrogen as raw material; first hydrogenation step is a hydrogenation reaction of maleic anhydride to obtain products γ-butyrolactone and succinic anhydride by multi-column rectification separation; second hydrogenation step is a hydrogenation reaction γ-butyrolactone to obtain product of 1,4-butanediol by rectification separation; specifically includes the following steps: a. hydrogenation of maleic anhydride; b. purification of succinic anhydride product; c. hydrogenation of γ-butyrolactone; d. purification of 1,4-butanediol product.
EFFECT: providing an environmentally friendly and cheap method of producing 1,4-butanediol.
