SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to dentistry, and can be used in the retention period of orthodontic treatment in patients after the stage of treatment on various structures and apparatuses: braces, aligners, fixed dilators, etc. Method of making dental thermoplastic trays is characterized by that tray is made in vacuum forming machine from polyethylene terephthalate plate at temperature 134 °C on the plaster model of the jaw. Wherein, to the outer surface applied are emulsion containing 65 wt.% of PTFE resin powder and nanodispersed cerium dioxide powder with a particle size of 4-10 nm in volume of 5 wt.%, which are dispersed in distilled water 30 wt.% and distributed over the surface of the plate using a vibration system. Thereafter, a tray is formed at plate deflection by 10 mm using vacuum for 20 sec.

EFFECT: improved quality of coating of thermoplastic trays to improve their hydrophobicity and wear resistance, which help to reduce wear rate and increase service life.
