FIELD: measuring; engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for acoustic research of internal combustion engine (ICE) intake system. ICE is installed in the acoustic anechoic chamber, which is equipped with the investigated intake system, the ICE is screened with the possibility of the investigated part of the intake system protruding beyond the screen, performing the measuring microphones installation at the near acoustic field distance from the intake system elements investigated zones, performing the measuring microphones switching with the recording and analysing equipment, measuring and recording the sound pressure levels during the ICE operation, wherein the ICE shielding is carried out by means of a cap with a wall thickness of not less than 0.2 m, enclosing the engine from above and on its lateral sides, provided with a gap made with possibility of tracing the investigated part of the engine outside the space protected by the cap, where the cap is formed from pierced mats containing filler from superfine basalt fibre and two- or six-sided lining from silica fabric.
EFFECT: improving the accuracy of noise measurement results for the intake system of an internal combustion engine.
