SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power supply systems of rolling stock of railway transport. AC railways traction power supply system with controlled booster transformer contains traction substation with three-phase step-down transformers, contact network, traction rail network, controlled booster hybrid transformer, implemented by the two-transformer scheme with single-phase rectifier, smoothing filter, single-phase inverter, single-phase inverter control system and output filter, voltage and current sensors on the traction substation feed lines, a comparator, a switching device for the booster transformer feed winding and a voltage sensor in the middle of the inter-substation zone. At that, voltage and current sensors of traction substation feed lines are connected through comparator to switching device. Voltage sensors at the traction substation and in the middle of the inter-substation zone are connected to the single-phase inverter control system.

EFFECT: higher capacity of traction power supply system and improved quality of electric power in terms of voltage unbalance.
