FIELD: catalytic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: alumina-boride carrier with specific volume of macropores (pore radii grater than 1000 ) 0.08-0.13 cu.cm/g is impregnated with potassium tungstenate in the form of air sol, this process being conducted with a velocity 0.1- 0.3 l/h per 100 g of catalyst. The impregnated carrier is left to stand under air atmosphere for 6-12 h and then is calcined. Use of the thus obtained catalyst enables conversion and selectivity to be increased, as compared to those obtained with commonly used catalyst, respectively from 66 to 68% and from 90 to 97%.
