FIELD: mechanical engineering; riveting machines. SUBSTANCE: apparatus incorporates wire feeding mechanisms and mechanisms for cutting off soft-collar rivet blanks, each of which is housed in hollow slider 11 and made in the form of rod 19 having wire axial opening 15, parallel-crank mechanism whose connecting rod 13 is kinematically linked to rod 19, spring-loaded turning stop mounted on bed for interacting with connecting rod 13 of parallel-crank mechanism, cutter 14 attached to end face portion of connecting rod 13, wire retainer 22 disposed on rod 19, cut-off female die 23, securely positioned at end face portion of rod 19 coaxially with respect to wire opening 15, and cut-off blank retainer made in the form of spring-loaded jaws 24. Apparatus further includes mandrel having guide grooves located at right angles relative to its longitudinal axis and provided with female dies positioned in grooves and having apertures disposed at certain angles corresponding to those of bed guides, female die driving member shaped as former secured to actuating cylinder cross-beam, and eccentric shaft connected to former and female die by roller. Operating procedure prescribes that reservoir be fitted on mandrel and actuating cylinder be set in motion. Female dies are enabled to move close to internal side surface of this reservoir to make wire move together with rod 19 and connecting rod 13 come over turning stop. This results in stoppage of rod 19 and connecting rod starting to move transversely with respect to rod 19 in order to enable cutter 14 to cut off rivet blank which is retained by jaws 24. With slider 11 moving further, wire blank punctures reservoir body to become soft-collar rivet and remain inside reservoir. EFFECT: higher reliability and extension of technological capabilities of riveting apparatuses employing soft-collar rivets. 2 cl, 10 dwg
