FIELD: minerals beneficiation. SUBSTANCE: method includes measuring electrochemical potential and electrochemical electrode potential using appropriate pairs of argentite, platinum and reference electrodes. Extreme value of electrochemical electrode potential corresponding to metastable state of elemental sulfur on the surface of minerals is determined. Consumption of sulfur-bearing modifying agent is defined by deviation of electrochemical electrode potential from optimum value. Direction of change of electrochemical potential is used to define regulation nature directed to either decreasing or increasing. EFFECT: increased extraction of metals, and improved quality of concentrates. 2 tbl, 2 dwg
