FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves aspiration of air through 96% ethanol at 0 C and through filter. Filter is washed with 96% ethanol. From each solution two samples were taken. From the first solution for vapors determination, from the second one - for determination of aerosols. One sample from every pair is diluted with buffer solution with pH 4, and second one - with 0.01N sodium hydroxide aqueous solution up to ethanol content in samples 5-17% . Sodium chloride (final concentration is 5 x 5·10-4) and methylorange (final concentration is 0.003%) were added to the both sample of every pair. Solutions were extracted twice with dichloroethane. Ethanol is added to extracts up to concentration 20% and photometry is carried out at wavelength 425 nm. Imidastat "O" is determined by optical density of the second extract, and imidazoline-C17 - by difference of optical densities of two extracts. EFFECT: improved method of determination. 2 tbl
