FIELD: satisfaction of man's physiological needs. SUBSTANCE: self-contained sanitary unit has housing with hinged-up cover and seat under which container is located for collecting human waste. The container consists of two individual vessels: one for collecting solid waste and the other for collecting liquid waste. The vessels communicate with the atmosphere via ventilation filter with air ducts, vessel with preservative and means for injecting the preservative. The unit has pipeline with check valve. The vessels for collecting solid and liquid waste are provided with detachable covers. The seat is provided with separate holes for collecting solid waste and discharging liquid waste and has retaining projection on the side of the hole for discharging solid waste, separating projection for discharging liquid waste and deflector located under separating projection and facing the vessel for collecting liquid waste. The hinged-up cover has locator for fixing it in upright position. The vessel for collecting liquid waste communicates with the vessel for the preservative and with the means for injecting the preservative. The means for injecting the preservative is the form of syringe, and the vessel for the preservative communicates with the syringe by means of the pipeline with the check valve.
