METHOD OF REPAIR OF PIPE LINE Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract RU 2005951 C1

FIELD: repair of pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: electromagnet is placed at area of defective section of pipe line which is connected with isotope sensors. Then extended separating shut-off piston is prepared through mixing gel-like elastic-viscous mass at preset amount of ferromagnetic material and adding respective isotope to this mixture. This mixture is introduced into pipe line through feeding chamber and is fed to point where electromagnet is secured under action of rated excessive pressure which exceeds cohesive force of elastic- viscous mass with walls of pipe line but does not exceed holding force of electromagnet. Gel-like ferromagnetic piston stops automatically when sensor sensitive to isotope operates and cuts in electromagnet. After stop of piston, pressure is relieved and defective section is cut out and replaced with new one. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 1 dwg
