FIELD: electronic engineering. SUBSTANCE: control is based on piece-wise linear approximation of variable external characteristic. By comparing present values of load current and voltage with desired boundary currents and voltages of linear sections those sections where present values of load current and voltage are found can be determined. Controlled variable C=A×I+B×U, where A and B are constants for each section of value. Error ΔC is determined for selected current and voltage sections, lowest of them is found, and controlled variable, such as gate trigger angle, is varied towards reduction of this lowest ΔC.
