FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to method and instrument for characterisation of linear properties of electric multiport component. Method for characterisation of linear properties of electric component (1), having n>1 ports (p1…pn) includes the following stages: procedure of assessment, comprising stage, at which assessed matrix Y' of full component conductances (1) is determined by application of voltages to ports (p1…pn) and measurement of mentioned component (1) response. Besides method includes procedure of measurement, comprising stage of several voltage templates uk application to ports (p1,…, pn) of component (1), besides each voltage template uk complies with own vector vk of specified assessed matrix Y' of full conductances, and determination of component (1) response for each applied voltage template uk. Method for modeling of electric system and two versions of instruments for characterisation of linear properties of electric component are realized in accordance with above specified method.

EFFECT: measurement of component linear response accuracy, even if own values of matrix of full conductances differ by several orders in value.
