FIELD: test technology. SUBSTANCE: piston-gate 3 and piston-striker 9 are accelerated in barrel mounted on base 1. Kinetic energy of piston-striker 9 is imparted to piston 4 with part 5 under test. Acceleration is provided by gas pressure built up within part 8 of barrel confined between piston-striker and piston-gate as it communicates with pressure chamber 6 through high-speed valve 7. Installation point of piston-gate is selected so as to ensure its exit from barrel at moment piston-striker passes gas vent ports. Piston 4 and piston-gate running out of barrel are stopped by braking devices 10, 12, respectively, mounted on additional base 13 where they are free to move unidirectionally with mentioned pistons during formation of test load. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 3 cl, 1 dwg
