FIELD: borehole survey. SUBSTANCE: diamond drill bit has body and matrix. Matrix is divided with flushing grooves into sectors with alternating comb and flat working faces. If numbers of comb and flat sectors are equal then hardness of comb sectors is greater than that of flat ones. If number of comb sectors exceeds that of flat ones then hardness of flat sectors is higher than hardness of comb sectors. EFFECT: increased efficiency. 3 dwg
