FIELD: drilling equipment, particularly usage of drilling bits and heads reinforced with synthetic or natural diamonds for hole boring.
SUBSTANCE: drilling bit comprises body and diamond-containing matrix. Working section of drilling bit is divided into leading and trailing parts in bit rotation direction in proportion of (1.4-1.6):(0.6-0.4). The leading and trailing parts are reinforced with diamonds differing in size. The leading part contains diamonds of lesser size, the trailing one contains diamonds of greater size. Compression strength of diamonds reinforcing leading and trailing parts are related as P1=K·P2, where P1 is compression strength of leading part diamonds, P2 is compression strength of trailing part diamonds and K=1.1-1.6 - coefficient depending on physical and mechanical properties of rock to be drilled.
EFFECT: increased operational durability and penetration rate.
