FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: sample of rock is dried, weighed, saturated with water. Amount of this water is determined. Then differentiating-thermal analysis of sample is conducted by which minimal temperature corresponding to beginning of extraction of residual water is found. Dehydration of sample is performed by heating of sample up to this temperature. Losses of water saturating sample is registered in process of dehydration. Amount of residual water is found by difference in its amount before and after dehydration. EFFECT: simplified and reliable method of analysis. 3 dwg
