FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: gear for directed break-down of monolithic objects has power cylinder with piston, rod with outward pressure wedge end with not less than one shoulder to rest piston against it, indentors with edges lateral and longitudinal with respect to longitudinal axis of power cylinder. Tabs of indentors are rigidly coupled to power cylinder. They are set to embrace outward pressure wedge end of piston. Guide of gear is connected with one end having longitudinal grooves to power cylinder, its other end has through slots with side sockets. Rod with outward wedge ed is passed through power cylinder and piston. Tabs of indentors are located in through slots and have shoulders placed in side sockets. Restoring couplings are positioned with one end in longitudinal grooves and are made fast to guide and with other end they ar placed into through slots and are cemented to tabs of indentors. With rotation piston screws into power cylinder and pushes rod through guide. Indentors interact with wedge end of rod, travel in radial direction and press against walls of borehole, penetrate rock and form crack which grows and detaches a lump from rock mass.
