FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a cutter which is figured in plane, symmetric with respect to longitudinal axis of a pallet, and positioned so that its top faces toward moving charge layer. Working surface of the cutter is concave at longitudinal section. Tangents to the bottom cutting edge and the top edge are inclined to a horizontal plane at an angles 30-40 and 60-50correspondingly. Angle between tangent to a generatrix and axis of the pallet is equal to 60-50and decreased from the top to the ends of the cutter. The cutter can be U-shaped in plane or the working surface can be step-shaped. Length of each step is equal to 1/3-1/4 of length of the cutter. EFFECT: enhanced quality of the leveling. 3 cl, 4 dwg
