FIELD: mining industry and metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal techniques for agglomerating iron ores and concentrates that may be also applied when agglomerating ores in nonferrous metallurgy. Wetted to 5.8-6.5% mix containing up to 80-90% fuel required to sintering operation is divided into two parts: 50-60% (A) and 40-50% (B) which are agglomerated in two agglomeration apparatuses with moisture content 7.5-8.2 (A) and 8.3-9.5% (B). Absolute difference in moisture of two agglomerated mixes corresponds to contents of fractions below 0.5 mm and below 3 mm in part B being, respectively, 2.0-5.0 and 1.5- 2.5 higher than those in part A. The both mixes are charged by means of the same charger involving size segregation over the layer height. EFFECT: facilitated process control. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
