FIELD: rolled stock production. SUBSTANCE: rolling roll has a barrel with a mean and two end portions, having surface roughness, being uniform on all portions of the barrel. The roughness of the surface of the mean portion of the roll barrel is less, than the roughness value of the end portions of the barrel; ratio of the mean portion length to the whole length of the barrel of the roll consists 0.2-0.4. EFFECT: rolling of metals in such rolls allows to decrease cross thickness difference of the metal, being rolled and therefore to enhance its quality, and also to lower metal consumption. 1 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
