FIELD: locking of various objects. SUBSTANCE: cylinder lock has a casing and a plug located in the casing to rotate relative to it, a great number of chambers formed in the casing, and a great number of chambers formed in the plug; the chambers extend in such a manner that each chamber of the casing is aligned with the respective chamber of the plug when the plug is in the first rotary orientation relative to the casing. The lock also uses a multi-element unit located in the casing and a multi-element finger unit located in the chambers of the plug. The multi-element finger unit of the casing uses an external finger element having an axial recess, and an internal finger element provided for a selective axial orientation relative to the external finger element, and a means for holding the internal finger element so as to prevent its disengagement from the external finger element and undesirable non-coincidence with it.
