FIELD: instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: differential pressure gage has two chambers accommodating spacer diaphragms and flat transparent rectangular capillary interconnecting spaces of chambers filled with nematic liquid crystal. Capillary is set of flat glass plates with conducting layer on inner surfaces mounted in a spaced relation; gap between them is filled with nematic liquid crystal. Chambers are connected via sampling tubes to two-way switching valve provided with actuator. Optocoupler is connected to flat transparent capillary. EFFECT: improved sensitivity due to multiple light dissipation, simplified data pick-off, enlarged range of differential pressure under measurement. 2 dwg
