FIELD: nondestructive test technique. SUBSTANCE: proposed test set has carriage moving in guides and provided with drive mechanism Carriage mounts hoist with hanger attached to it. Hanger is four-link tilting parallelogram with rocker arms secured on axle located in four-link arrangement plane, webs mounted perpendicular to rocker arms for displacement on them, each provided with bracket carrying hinged ultrasonic transducer, and rollers installed symmetrically in respect to ultrasonic transducer axis. Hanger mounts light indicators and defective-section blue tester. Pipe executes translational movement over rolling table and rests in turn against rollers, displaces four-link tilting parallelogram in direction of movement until rollers come out onto pipe surface in which case desired working clearance is set between face of ultrasonic transducer and pipe surface after which ultrasonic test of weld begins from pipe end. EFFECT: reduced labour consumption in testing pipe welds. 2 dwg
