FIELD: nondestructive testing. SUBSTANCE: invention deals with nondestructive testing of continuity of welds of tubes welded electrically. Magnetic flaw detector for testing of tubes has supporting column, magnetization unit and electric motor with belt transmission anchored on it, induction converter with ferromagnetic rods and unit for signal processing with indicator. Indicator is provided with two supporting rollers and ring which is mounted for rotation on supporting rollers and is designed for interaction with external surface with belt of electric motor. Induction converter is manufactured in the form of immobile rectangular coil which is made fast to supporting column between poles of magnetization unit. The latter has split poles. Ferromagnetic rods of induction converter are located on outer side of belt of electric motor at distance exceeding half-length of coil but not less than distance between poles of magnetization unit. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and productivity of testing. 4 dwg
