DEVICE TO TAKE TEMPERATURE OF METAL STRIP MOVING IN HEATING FURNACE Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: device has copper heat-sensing element in the form of rod which is anchored on holder via hinge suspension. One face of heat-sensing element has blind hole for installation of thermojunction converter. Heat-sensing element is provided with five concentric open radiation screens with cylindrical side surfaces which intercontact via local hemispherical bulges and embrace side surface of heat-sensing element to form contact with it via bulges of the lowest screen. Hemispherical bulges are formed in screens with displacement with respect to each other in each pair of separable screens. The uppermost of them is provided with face walls. Holder is mounted inside hollow rod for movement along it. Rod carries heat insulating jacket facing heat-sensing element with open end. Geometrical dimensions and shape of space of jacket are identical to dimensions and shape of heat-sensing element with radiation screens. Faces of heat-sensing element are bevelled at obtuse angle to its contact surface following shape of surface of metal strip.
