FIELD: petrochemistry; petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: method involves regeneration of platinum-containing catalyst with hydrogen-containing gas in two stages: first, at 0.5-1.0 MPa pressure with gradual increase of temperature up to 300-380 C and then at 2-4 MPa with increase of temperature up to 400-500 C. In 280-300 C temperature interval, catalyst is sulfidized by means of metering dimethyldisulfide into hydrogen-containing gas. EFFECT: regeneration of catalyst improved. 1 tbl
