FIELD: analytical chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves treatment of mammalian urine specimen with aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide up to pH 9-10. Extract is discarded, and remained aqueous part is acidified with acetic acid and extracted with chloroform repeatedly. Thin-layer chromatography is run by using mobile phase consisting of a mixture of hexane-acetone at ratio 3: 1. Method is used in veterinary. EFFECT: improved method of L-naphthol assay. 4 tbl
