METHOD OF PREVENTING COARSE CICATRIZATION OF CORNEA Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, in particular ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: emergence of coarse cicatrices of cornea and development of astigmatism are severe complications that may result from penetrating wounds of cornea. Immunological methods of correcting processes of inflammation and pathological regeneration are currently finding numerous applications. Novel method of preventing coarse cicatrization of cornea is characterized in using noncellular supernatant of peripheral blood lymphocyte cultures in the form of drops during 1 to 1.5 months. The effectiveness of disclosed method resides in promoting processes of normal adhesion of early defects (reducing size of cicatrix approximately two times from beginning of treatment), prevention of inflammation, and early restoration of cornea sphericity. Particular attractiveness of new method consists in that supernatant of lymphocyte cultures employed as medicinal preparation includes natural combination of endogenous pitocins autologous for given organism. Alongside activation of regenerative processes and anti-inflammatory effect, supernatant is not allergic and absolutely harmless. EFFECT: noticeable feasibility and easiness. 7 dwg, 1 tbl
