FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: when joining links of train, inclined lugs and major teeth of automatic couplers are preliminarily centered horizontally and vertically. Additional vertical and horizontal centering of automatic couplings and truck lines occurs at the point when the couplers and truck lines have been centered, and major teeth of the couplers continue movement on horizontal planes of inclined lugs. At this point in time centering pins enter centering holes of adjacent contact plates to finally center the truck lines before they are eventually coupled. The truck lines are joined when the centering pins enter the centering holes. When separating the trucks, the closed holes open, and compressed air is discharged to the atmosphere. Cut-off valve is used to open or close the air line manually. EFFECT: improved reliability of the system. 3 dwg
