FIELD: fiber glass industry. SUBSTANCE: during the heat treatment process, the melt is divided into several adjacent streams. In each of the streams the inner layer is maintained at a viscosity of 150-135 P and the outer layers are further heated to a viscosity of 100-85 P to form free convective currents and combining them with the inner layer. Prior to feeding to the formation zone, the adjacent streams of the glass melt are combined with each other and the viscosity is adjusted to 240-170 P.
