FIELD: automotive engineering. SUBSTANCE: four-stroke internal combustion engine has casing 1 accommodating rotor 2 with cylinders having pistons and rods. Secured rigidly to rotor 2 in line with the longitudinal axis of cylinder 3 are brackets 4 and 5. Cylinder 3 accommodates piston 6 with rod 7. Bracket 4 is pivotally connected to two-arm lever 8 provided with roller 9 engageable with inner curvilinear surface 10 of casing 1. Bracket 5 is pivotally linked to two-arm lever 11 having roller 12 cooperating with inner curvilinear surface 10 of casing 1. Two-arm levers 8 and 11 have outer toothings mating through transmission gears 13 and 14 rigidly affixed to rotor 2. Positioned between gears 13 and 14 is rod 7 of piston 6 in the form of a toothed rack. Other cylinders are fashioned in a similar manner. The number of cylinders in the engine and the shape of interior surface 10 of casing 1 can be different. Transmission gears 13 and 14 can be dispensed with, and two-arm levers 8 and 11 will in this case directly engage with each other through toothed rack. Rod 7 of piston 6 will in this case rest between two-arm levers 8 and 11. The transmission must ensure equal angular displacement of rollers 9 and 12 with a phase of 180. In this manner, two-arm levers 8 and 11 are operatively connected by toothed transmission to rod 7 of piston 6 thanks to the provision of rod 2 in the form of a toothed rack located between gears 13 and 14 (two-arm levers 8 and 11).
