FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in propulsion engineering. Claimed engine comprises cylinder heads (2), cylinders (3 and 4) to house axially symmetric pistons (5) coupled with conversion mechanism. The latter is composed of said sleeve (12) fitted in axial bearings mounted in the seats of cylinders. Ends of the sleeve (12) have equidistant curvilinear surfaces. Sleeve (12) is engaged via rim made on its outer surface with power takeoff shaft (16) and valve timing drive. Forked rods (7) are rigidly coupled with pistons (5) and articulated with said curvilinear surfaces of sleeve (12) with phase shift of π/2. Said rods (7) have two pins at the ends of rod (7) axles and nearby every rod arm to contact with top and bottom curvilinear end surfaces of the sleeve.
EFFECT: higher reliability, decreased overall dimensions.
