FIELD: estimation technology. SUBSTANCE: electrode is moved towards a weldable part by striking an electrode holder by falling weight 16 or by a percussion mechanism. The strike energy may be regulated by moving brackets 3 and 4 along post 5. After the welding circuit is closed electrode holder 12 with electrode 13 is returned to the initial position by spring 8. The electrical arc burns until the electrode is melted and the gap between the electrode and the part increases. The number of successful ignitions and the number of attempts to ignite the arc are counted. Their ratio is determined by which the arc ignition stability is estimated. EFFECT: improved reliability. 1 dwg
