CYLINDRICAL ARTICLE ORIENTATION DEVICE Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has a rotating ring and disk 3 in it which are concentrically mounted in a a case, cylindrical articles are fed to the disk. Partition 6 mounted above the disk directs articles rolled aside by the centrifugal force to the upper end of the rotating ring into the clearance between concentrically mounted part of the partition and the wall of case 1. A row of differently directed articles is formed in this clearance which are led to release mechanism 7 by the rotating ring. The release mechanism embraces the cylindrical part of a properly oriented article by an oriented cutting of the lower part of the short shelf of its angle together with the upper end of the ring and the side located along its inner edge. The properly oriented article passes under this cutting to receiving tube 12 mounted tangentially to the upper end of the ring and the body wall. Moreover, the release mechanism by its oblique cut of the side part of the short shelf of its angle throws an improperly oriented cylindrical part off the upper end of the ring into an expanded clearance between the part of partition 6 displaced to the disk center and the wall of body 1.
