FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: composition includes ion-exchange components, that is, equivalent amounts of ion-exchange resins in sodium and hydrogen forms, polyvinyl alcohol, glycerin, and cross-linking aldehydes, all to be taken in the following proportions: 6 to 8 percent by mass ion-exchange resin in sodium form, 6 to 8 percent by mass ion-exchange resin in hydrogen form, 30 to 36 percent by mass polyvinyl alcohol, 8 to 10 percent by mass glycerin, 0.02 to 1.0 percent by mass aldehyde, and 36 to 46 percent by mass water. EFFECT: excellent versatile means for curing both alkali and acid burns of eyes; indispensable remedy to give timely first aid whenever nature of foreign matter cannot be definitely established.
