FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: polymer hydrogels are applied in form of soft contact lenses (SCL), as carriers of anti-burn medications. Polymer hydrogels are formed in form of SCL, able to absorb burning and toxic substances in eyes in case of chemical burns. Hydrogels are obtained by copolymerisation of monomers in presence of linking agent and mixture of equal amounts of sodium and hydrogen forms of ion-exchanging resin, in implementation of the first version. As monomers used are N-vinylpyrrolidon and methylmetacrylate, and as ion-exchanging resin weakly acidic carboxyl cations of sorts "Д-113", "КБ-4" and "КБ-2Э", copolimerisation is performed in presence of divinyl diethylene glycol under impact of ionising y-irradiation until absorbed dose of 3.5-4.5 Mrad. In second version ion-exchanging resin is taken in sodium form and SCL is obtained, which is used in case of acidic burns. In third version ion-exchanging resin is taken in hydrogen form and SCL is obtained in case of alkaline burns of eyes.

EFFECT: obtaining ion-exchanging polymer hydrogels, possessing biological inertness, oxygen permeability, light-transmission, plasticity, elasticity.
