FIELD: medical engineering, particularly, labor protection facilities. SUBSTANCE: multi-layer obturator is fabricated from filtering materials. First layer facing respirator half-mask is manufactured from filtering material based on cotton and capron fibers taken in ratio of 3 to 4 : 1 by mass. Following layers are made of baseless filtering material manufactured of ultra-fine polymeric fibers each from 1 to 8 microns in diameter, layer thickness ranging from 0.5 to 0.8 mm. Obturator blank is strip whose parts are set apart at bridge of nose. Strip varies in thickness, with portion having the greatest thickness being located in region of chin. Obturator blank is made up by two arcs, has center of displacement along axis of symmetry towards the greatest width of obturator and attached to half-mask to overlap its ends in region of bridge of nose.
