FIELD: retreatment of pulp liquors. SUBSTANCE: sulfate digestion black lye is burnt, the resulting smelt is dissolved to form green liquor that is treated with hydrated lime. The resulting slurry is washed and the residue is fired. The steps of dissolving the smelt, hydrating the lime and washing the slurry are carried out by using wood pulp spent liquor containing sodium compounds and the products of their neutralization and having pH 7.5-12.5. This wood pulp spent liquor is pretreated by removal of the suspended matters and a portion of solutes from it. EFFECT: increased regeneration. 1 cl, 3 tbl
