SUBSTANCE: air-operated hammer has handle, working tool, body with central channel, inlet and outlet channels, bypass channel with radial outlets to central channel on both sides of outlet channel, striker separating the central channel into working stroke chamber and idle stroke chamber intercommunicated by means of bypass channel, cover and working tool. To increase impact energy due to provision of smooth and increased in time air bypass between chamber of working stroke and that of idle stroke, the radial outlet of air bypass channel is furnished with controlled varying sectional area in form of throttle tiers.
