FIELD: drilling equipment. SUBSTANCE: air-operated hammer has handle, working tool, body with outlet channel and central channel accommodating striker separating central channel into flow chamber, working stroke chamber and idle stroke chamber, which communicate periodically with atmosphere by means of outlet channel, inlet throttling channels in cover and body constantly communicating the chambers of working and idle stokes with compressed air system, and channel for forcing out air from working stroke chamber with cutting-off edge. To increase impact energy, frequency of impacts and to reduce specific air flow rate due to reduction of time of braking of striker at the end of idle stroke and increased speed of acceleration at the beginning of working stroke, the forcing out channel has cutting-off edge in body central channel. Length of forcing out channel between cutting-off edge is larger than length of side landing surface of striker. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 3 dwg
